When the Princess of Wales wants to make a sophisticated style statement she often turns to Zara. Wearing the brand frequently in her early royal days, Kate donned a blue pleated knee-length dress called “the honeymoon dress” the day after her wedding to Prince William in April 2011. Soon after joining the royal ranks, Kate wore the brand’s printed and textured tops, budget necklaces, colorful skinny jeans and moto biker pants from the fast-fashion retailer. Most recently, she wore a Zara plaid printed midi dress with a belt and Zara houndstooth skirt for royal duty. The princess was even spotted shopping for housewares at Zara Home in Chelsea just hours before attending a gala in dark blue Jenny Packham in October 2013.

Kate’s beloved brand started as a small store in Spain in 1974 and today is known as one of the biggest international fashion companies with over 3000 retail locations including stores dedicated to children’s clothing and home furnishings. And while its decor and kids collections are big sellers, its Zara’s sleek and tailored modern clothing designs with hint of 70s festival style and a splash of avant garde that make the international chain have mass appeal.  From paisley and patchwork dresses perfect for pairing with chunky block heeled boots for an outdoor concert to crystal beaded dresses and shimmery see-through mesh mermaid midis that wouldn’t feel out of place at the Met Gala, to a large selection of structured blazers, wool coats and knitwear, Zara satisfies every clothing craving of the modern fashionista.

It’s easy to see why the Princess of Wales is an ardent fan of the textured blazers and suit jackets produced by Zara.

Here are 9 of Kate Middleton’s Favorite Zara Blazers and Jackets:

  1. Zara Textured Double-Breasted Blazer in Apple Green

With a lapel collar and long sleeves plus front welt pockets with flaps — this jacket jives with Princess Kate’s diplomatic and holiday theme dressing. The thick tweed fabric gives the shamrock topper plenty of charm and vintage luxe. In addition, the shorter cropped length feels distinctly modern while the glistening gold buttons offer a hint of glitz. The princess has worn the jacket on just one occasion for a St. Patrick’s Day video in March 2021.

During the royal tour of New Zealand, Kate returned to her love of all things military with this classic double-breasted blazer which looked similar to an officer’s coat. Often called a ringmaster jacket, this sold out $139 navy topper was spotted on the princess three times in 2014 and once in 2015 for a sailing function.

5. Zara Back Pleat Blazer in Red

With a swingy cape silhouette, this ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ jacket was a fun choice for Kate to wear to the Royal Windsor Horse Show in May 2016.
