Known for her impeccable style and envy inducing wardrobe filled with sharp tailored coats, fit and flare tea dresses and glamorous gowns, the Princess of Wales never misses a sartorial step. She always looks glossy, groomed and gorgeous.

And one designer she repeatedly adds to her elegant royal lookbook is Roland Mouret. The ready-to-wear designer is a popular choice in regal households (also worn by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Princess Sofia of Sweden and Princess Charlene of Monaco). The French fashion designer is renowned for his era-defying designs with a focus on feminine and timeless fashions with a retro twist.

Deftly designing dresses with interesting drapes and inspired architectural elements, the House of Mouret, based in London, continues to be among Princess Kate’s favorites for elegant evening wear and sophisticated statement dresses. In addition, the princess loves pants from the acclaimed womenswear designer and has donned Mouret’s Lucanus dark blue trousers for a nursing home visit in 2023 and the Axon side zip black wide leg pants for rugby matches, meetings at Windsor Castle and Christmas tree trimming in 2021 and 2022.

Here are 8 Times Kate Middleton Wowed in Roland Mouret:

  1. Roland Mouret Manon Navy Dress

The princess wore this striking navy sheath in Canada in July 2011. Constructed of silk and cotton, the city-chic style has a dramatic back cutout and pleated front detail. Defined by a crossover back and asymmetric pleat detailing at the neck, along with a fitted waist, this is one of Kate’s most classic workwear dresses.

2. Roland Mouret Maroon Trouser Suit

The princess wore this berry colored suit for engagements in Boston and 2022 and later repeated the style for London-centric outings in 2023. The single breasted stretch cady blazer can be worn with sweaters or bodysuits and pairs perfectly with the brand’s wide leg trousers.

3. Roland Mouret Camel Trouser Suit

The princess doubled up on pantsuit purchases and opted to add this single-breasted sand colored suit jacket to her cart along with the matching trousers. The mom of three first wore the design in east London in September 2023.

4. Roland Mouret Drape Detail Green Midi Sheath

A draped shoulder bow gives this emerald colored dress plenty of personality. Kate wore the wool and silk short sleeve midi for Wimbledon in July 2023.

5. Roland Mouret Lamble Gown in Black and White

This formfitting colorblock dress is the ultimate LBD — perfect for cocktail hour or an evening at the opera, this stretch crepe gown has a contrast white banded neckline with a sheer mesh panel at the back (Kate had the exposed back covered). The red carpet LBD also boasts a fluted hem.

6. Roland Mouret Nansen Royal Blue Cold Shoulder Gown

This stunning floor length gown in a rich cobalt color hails from Mouret’s Resort 2016 collection. Crafted from luxurious double crepe, this off-the-shoulder design was worn by the princess for a SportsAid Gala in June 2016.

7. Roland Mouret Ella/Lombard Gown

A floor skimming cream gown was the perfect choice for a Nelson Mandela film premiere in May 2012. Kate wore this showstopping wool-crepe gown with gathered shoulders paired with an affordable bib necklace from Zara.

8. Roland Mouret Asymmetric Black Wool and Silk Dress

This fitted midi dress features elbow length sleeves with a bell sleeve cuffs and an exposed back zipper. Constructed of wool with a spandex lining, this sleek dress has been worn by the princess for somber occasions including the funeral of Prince Philip in April 2021 and the Festival of Remembrance in 2018.
