The Princess of Wales is renowned for her holiday dressing — sticking to her famous tried and true festive fashion formula — the princess often opts for longline coats in hunter green, tweed, tartan or aubergine.

She frequently accompanies the royal family dressed in sharp and smart winter clothing with little fuss or festive flourishes. Instead, she opts for colors of the season and dons pine colored wool coats and tailored plum toppers. She will often wear her most affordable day dresses underneath her tailored dresscoats and frequently wears Kiki McDonough accessories and family brooches. More often than not, she’s inclined to wear suede boots or pumps, burgundy or mossy colored hats and occasionally wears leather gloves or bow adorned accessories.

Here are All of Kate Middleton’s Best Christmas Day Fashion Moments:

2011

The princess stepped out with Prince Harry to celebrate the Christmas season after marrying into the royal family just around 8 months prior. Kate wore a bespoke burgundy funnel neck coat by a private British dressmaker, a Jane Corbett Trillby hat and Mascaro suede black platform pumps.

For her festive fashion statement in 2014, Kate did a major pivot away from her traditional holiday styles and opted for a muted Moloh Turpin coat. The military style tweed coat from the British brand was accented with a Really Wild silk scarf in ‘Autumn Partridge’ and Emmy London dark brown Valerie pumps. She accessorized the earthy style with Cornelia James Imogen brown gloves with a bow, Catherine Zoraida leafy gold hoop earrings and a Lock and Company brown Betty Boop hat. On this somewhat rare occasion, royal watchers identified Kate’s hidden dress as her Hobbs animal print shirtdress.

Kate gave a major Middleton shoutout in the form of her accessories opting for her Asprey London woodland necklace featuring an 18 karat gold acorn charm and a diamond oak leaf brooch with studded acorns. (The Middleton Coat of Arms features the woodland flora). The princess finished the look with Kiki green amethyst cushion drop earrings, a Lock and Company deep emerald green hat and her Mulberry Bayswater wallet in black suede.
