While there has been so much buzz regarding Meghan Markle’s dress choice–from speculation about Vera Wang, Ralph and Russo to Stella McCartney and Burberry, there hasn’t been as much hoopla surrounding one of the biggest wedding day mysteries: how Meghan will style her hair!

While the Duchess of Cambridge looked ethereal on her wedding day with a half up, half down style pulled back to highlight her face not to mention the true showstopper: the Cartier Halo Tiara–it’s any guess how Meghan will want to style her long glossy brunette locks. While it’s almost certain the Meghan will favor soft muted makeup and glowing skin–with homage to her freckles and brown eyes, things get a little more hairy in the mane department.

One thing is certain: Meghan makes her own rules for royal dressing and haircare. The future duchess  caused an epic stir when she debuted her messy bun hairstyle on one of the first royal appearances with Prince Harry. Women the world over were elated that the casual and carefree hairstyle could be considered super chic and perfectly suitable for a professional engagement. Still, it’s unlikely that her default messy bun-on-the-run will become her royal hairstyle. As Meghan has mostly worn her hair barrel curled with soft, voluminous blowouts on the Suits set and for photo shoots, she’s likely inclined to favor hair ghosts of the past.

So, how will Meghan style her hair for the royal wedding?

The Extravagant Updo

As a very modern bride with a trendsetting spirit, she will likely do something slightly unexpected. Perhaps a piece-y and modern messy updo with more hair strands near her face than with her infamous hair buns and something more stylized. A formal updo would behoove the actress as it would highlight whatever tiara is gifted to her from the Queen for the wedding day.

The Romantic Waves

Making her mark on the monarchy, Meghan could further declare her place as a style star and hair influencer by donning romantic and girly waves. Far from her usual repertoire of hairstyles, this Old Hollywood look would be whimsical enough for a wedding and very appropriate for a history-making affair.

The Bouncy Blowout

Instead of having a very sculpted and neat hairstyle, Meghan might go with something fun, playful and ultra-modern by having a loose and light blowout.

The Sleek and Timeless

Meghan could very well opt for her signature style with a headpiece or glittery hairpiece accessory that would compliment the tiara. In all likelihood, Meghan will add tape-in or clip-in hair extensions for extra length and volume to her shoulder length style. Prince Harry’s future wife often wears her hair in smooth and touchable long shoulder-grazing styles.

The Ultra Glam

Meghan could also try something unexpected and go for a hairstyle with a bit of drama and keep her locks side swept and curled or pinned back.

The hairstyles we won’t see on Meghan include anything too fussy or too sloppy.  Nothing like her super curled hair from her days as a model on Deal or No Deal. No bouffants and larger than life hairstyles with lots of embellishments like pearls and flowers.

No matter how she wears her duchess ‘do, it will be a moment to remember for her, Prince Harry and the history books.
