Prince William and Kate Middleton stepped out together for their first official joint engagement since the birth of Prince Louis. The royal twosome attended the Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit in London which serves as a gathering for world leaders, academics, and policy makers to discuss mental health issues. No doubt the event is of significant interest to Kate who has launched her own mental health programs and has championed campaigns to promote mental health awareness.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked lovely in one of her most colorful and eye-catching statement dresses. Worn previously in Hamburg, Germany last year, the lilac wool crepe dress has summer vibes but transitions to fall beautifully with the right accessories. Indeed, Kate swapped out her Anya Hindmarch red clutch for a more earthy and autumnal lilac midi bag with a top handle.
The Duchess opted for her pale purple Emila Wickstead A-line dress which is still available in LIGHT PINK and BLUE. Kate seems particularly fond of recycling clothes and accessories as of late and recently stepped out in decade old boots for a visit to a children’s wildlife garden.
The Duchess made an unexpected handbag choice and shunned her usual petite clutches in favor of a chic crocodile and calf leather handbag from Aspinal of London.
The English luxury lifestyle brand offers elegant and refined classic pieces like handbags, wallets, journals and accessories. Celebrities like Taylor Swift and Olivia Palermo are fans of the brand.
Kate’s lilac midi bag is described by Aspinal London: “Encapsulating timeless vintage-inspired styling, our Midi Mayfair Bag is hand-crafted from the finest deep shine croc print Italian calf leather. Both versatile and luxurious, the structured boxy design features three inner compartments secured with our enduring shield lock clasp. What’s more, sumptuous black leather complements any outfit, and makes an exquisite transitional piece from day to night. The flawless finish of the leather’s rich, glassy shine and the shimmering grosgrain lining give this accessory a truly elegant feel.”
No doubt Kate selected her midi satchel to honor a British brand and likely loved the lilac shaded bag–perhaps it will even end up in Princess Charlotte’s closet someday?
Kate also recycled her shoes and opted for her favorite pointed pumps–she wore her Gianvito Rossi 105 Praline Suede Pumps.
For accessories, Kate added earrings from her jewelry collection: the Mappin & Webb Empress Drop Earrings that she first wore at the christening of Princess Charlotte in July 2015.
Kate finished her look with the Mappin & Webb Empress Pendant Necklace.
