Multiple media outlets including the Express and the DailyMail are reporting that Meghan Markle’s mother has been asked by the Queen to join the royal family for Christmas this year. The invitation shows great respect for Meghan and acknowledges the fact that she has no family in England.
Meghan’s first Christmas as a royal was a nerve-wracking experience as all eyes were on the newbie at Sandringham over the holidays in 2017. Joining Prince William, Duchess Kate as well as Prince Philip and the other senior royals, Meghan had to curtsy for the Queen as she left Christmas service. The moment was likely a bit intimidating for the California-born actress who was just starting her life as a British royal.
Doria has always been one of Meghan’s biggest supporters and made an unforgettable mother of the bride as she radiated happiness and joy in seeing her daughter marry her prince. Meghan’s mom’s quiet and dignified composure won over many people and Doria became a secondary star of the royal wedding.
Doria is likely continue to a great source of strength and comfort for Meghan as she starts her own journey into motherhood. There are even reports that Ms. Ragland may soon leave her Windsor Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles and move to the U.K. to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law and her new grandbaby full-time.
And undoubtedly the twosome will want to spend more time together and perhaps try a prenatal yoga class (both are avid yogis) or go for long walks on the grounds of Kensington Palace together likely discussing the nursery and organic baby food recipes as Meghan loves to cook. Either way, the duo will surely enjoy the holidays together and making memories before their tight twosome welcomes a new club member.
