The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid their respects to the victims of a helicopter crash outside Leicester City’s stadium. Their Royal Highnesses, who knew Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, joined his wife, son and daughter at the tribute site – to pay their respects.
Duchess Kate also laid flowers at the scene of the fatal helicopter crash. In addition, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with volunteers who helped to relocate the thousands of tributes placed outside the front of the Leicester City stadium after the accident.
The Duke and Duchess also left a signed condolence card at King Power Stadium near the sea of bouquets. Later, the Duke of Cambridge also gave a speech honoring the Chairman and said he was “a man who cared deeply about his family and also his community.”
For this occasion, Duchess Kate wore a tweed gray dress coat with fine black piping and matching buttons. The design is believed to be a bespoke creation by Catherine Walker and was the same ensemble she wore in August with the Queen on the way to church service at Balmoral.
Kate added a new handbag from Aspinal London called the Mayfair Midi in black crocodile. Kate already owns the bag in lilac.
The chic handbag features timeless vintage-inspired styling and is hand-crafted from the finest deep shine black croc print Italian calf leather. Both versatile and luxurious, the structured boxy design includes three inner compartments secured with our enduring shield lock clasp. In addition, the sumptuous black leather complements any outfit, and makes an exquisite transitional piece from day to night. The flawless finish of the leather’s rich, glassy shine and the shimmering grosgrain lining give this accessory a truly elegant feel. The bag also features a convenient top handle and detachable strap and can be worn as a crossbody bag. And the compact little purse would make a great gift as it can also be personalized with a name or initials up to eight characters.
Kate finished her look with Tod’s black suede block heel pumps which she’s worn for years and on at least ten different occasions. The shoes feature a pointy toe and a pebbled traction grip.
The Duchess of Cambridge also added her velvet hair tie from J.Crew. The pretty hair accessory looks especially charming during the holiday months and dresses up an ordinary ponytail.
The duchess completed her look with her pearl stud cluster earrings she wore to Prince Louis’ baptism by Cassandra Goad.
And as an additional note, during a walkabout later in the day, the duchess was asked about Meghan’s impending bundle of joy and seemed to dispel any rumors of a feud with her warm words concerning the Sussex baby.
When asked if she was excited for Harry and Meghan Kate said, “Yeah, absolutely, [I’m excited for Meghan and her new baby].” She went on to say, “It’s such a special time to have all the kiddies and a cousin for George and Charlotte as well as Louis so it’ll be really special.”
