The Duchess of Cambridge proved she’s fall-ready in a pair of burgundy trousers at an engagement with her husband, Prince William this morning in London. The mom of three looked stylish in her professional ensemble including slim fit cropped pants and a checked blazer for a visit to Shout’s Crisis Volunteer celebration event at the Troubadour White City Theatre.
The Duke and Duchess were celebrating the work of volunteers at Shout, a 24-hour text service for anyone in crisis. The new charity was launched by Will and Kate back in May as part of their Heads Together initiative with the Sussexes. On their Instagram page Kate and William acknowledged the ‘Fab Four’ with a ‘shout out’ to Harry and Meghan. “Catherine and I, and Harry and Meghan couldn’t be more proud of what Shout has accomplished. We’re hugely proud and hugely grateful to all of you for being part of this,” – The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Today, the Cambridges met with staff and guests as well took to the stage and thanked crisis volunteers for their dedication and hard work.
For this outing, Duchess Kate recycled an old standby–her Smythe Glen Check 2 Button Blazer which she wore previously at a Coach Core Event in October 2018. The workwear essential features a glen plaid pattern, collared neck and brushed weave fabric.
Kate debuted a new piece from her wardrobe — Zoom Viscose Cady trousers from Joseph in ruby. The sleek cropped pants can elevate daywear options with their lightweight viscose-cady blend which pairs effortlessly with shirts and sweaters or jackets and blazers.
To complete the ensemble, the duchess opted for her beloved Gianvito Rossi ‘Piper’ 85 Black Suede Pumps featuring a pointed toe and 85mm block heel. The shoes are designed in Italy from buttery black suede with a leather insole for comfortable wear.
For accessories, the British beauty selected long-time favorites including her Mappin & Webb Empress Drop Earrings ($1927) which she has worn on over 20 occasions starting in July 2015 when she debuted the delicate motif earrings for Princess Charlotte’s christening. In addition, Kate wore her Mappin & Webb empress pendant necklace featuring 0.40 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds in 18 carat white gold on an 18 inch chain. Kate first wore the mid-length motif necklace to the Tower of London in August 2014.
